What a Gatlinburg cabin bachelor party actually costs

Updated October 2026 ยท Brocation Editors

$393 to $667 a man for three nights with twelve guys, before gas and the bar tab. That makes a Smoky Mountains cabin one of the cheapest bachelor parties you can do, and it is cheap for one reason: twelve guys sleep under one roof, so the most expensive line on every other trip gets cut by a factor of twelve.

The one page that publishes a per man number for this trip says $300 to $800 for three days. It leaves out tax, and it says nothing about the rule that decides which cabins your group is allowed to book at all.

Per man, three nights, group of twelve, no flights. Low is an off peak five or six bedroom cabin. High is a peak weekend. Booking, cleaning and damage fees vary by manager and are not included.

Where the numbers come from

The cabin. Elk Springs Resort's March 2026 price guide puts five and six bedroom group cabins at about $550 to $900 a night off peak and over $1,000 in peak weeks. Three nights at $550 split twelve ways is $138 a man. At $1,000 it is $250. Add 12.75 to 13.75 percent in tax and you get the $155 and $284 in the table. Listing sites like VRBO and Airbnb add another 10 to 15 percent on top of booking direct, by the same guide's count.

The floor goes lower if you are flexible on beds. Cabins for YOU lists Pop-A-Bear, sleeps 17, from $252 a night, which is $63 a man for the weekend before tax.

The tax is charged on the fees too. Tennessee state sales tax of 7 percent plus local sales tax is applied to the cleaning fee, not just the rent. Pigeon Forge adds a 2.5 percent city occupancy tax. Sources disagree on the exact all in rate, which is why the table uses a range. Ask the manager for the total with tax before anyone sends money.

The activities. The low column is a Sugarlands moonshine tasting at $5 and the Ober Mountain tram at $29. The high column keeps the tasting, swaps the tram for a SkyBridge SkyPass at $53.95, and adds Anakeesta at about $40 and a guided ATV tour from $79.99 a man. Park in the national park and every car needs a parking tag: $5 a day or $15 a week.

Food. We use the federal standard meals rate of $68 a day, three days, because nobody publishes current restaurant prices for the Parkway. A group that cooks in the cabin will beat it. A group that eats out every meal will not.

Gatlinburg tours and tickets

Twelve is the number that decides everything

Every cabin here is permitted for a maximum number of guests, and the permit is built around twelve. Sevier County's own rules for rentals outside city limits give a $250 permit to a property for twelve or fewer, charge the owner an extra $25 for every occupant over that, and require a State Fire Marshal permit for any cabin built since 2016 that hosts more than twelve. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge run their own permits on top.

That is why so many listings stop at sleeps 12. And the managers enforce it. Stony Brook Lodging's policy says an occupancy violation gets every guest evicted immediately, with no refund. The same manager requires the renter to be 25 or older for any cabin of three bedrooms or more.

So lock the headcount before you shop. Twelve guys opens the whole market. Thirteen, or two guys bringing a plus one to the last night, moves you into a smaller and pricier set of properties, and showing up with more people than the listing says can end the trip on the first night.

Last call is 1 a.m.

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both premier resort cities under Tennessee law, and that status stops alcohol sales at 1 a.m. Knoxville serves until 3 a.m., but it is an hour away and somebody has to drive. Plan for the night to move back to the cabin, which is the point of renting one anyway. Tennessee liquor stores sell on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., so stocking up is never a problem.

When to go, and the two weekends to avoid

Elk Springs names late January to early March and late April to early May as the low periods. Peak is June through August, early October to early November for the leaves, Thanksgiving, and Christmas through New Year. Some managers set minimums in peak weeks: Stony Brook requires four nights over Thanksgiving week and three over Christmas and New Year.

The trap is Rod Run. The Pigeon Forge car shows run April 16 to 18 and September 17 to 19 in 2026. A 30 minute Parkway drive can take two to three hours and every room fills. Both fall in otherwise cheap windows, which is exactly how groups end up booking into them.

Winter has its own catch. From December 1 to March 31 managers advise four wheel drive or chains for the cabin driveways, and bad weather does not get you a refund. Check the road to the cabin, not just the cabin.

Questions

How much does a Gatlinburg bachelor party cost per person?

About $393 to $667 a man for three nights with twelve guys, before gas and the bar tab. The low end is a five or six bedroom cabin off peak and a quiet itinerary. The high end is a peak weekend cabin with SkyBridge, Anakeesta, an ATV tour and a distillery tasting.

How many people can stay in a Gatlinburg cabin?

Whatever the property's permit says, and twelve is the line that matters. In unincorporated Sevier County a rental permit covers twelve or fewer occupants, each occupant over twelve costs the owner an extra $25, and a cabin built since 2016 needs a State Fire Marshal permit to host more than twelve. Exceeding the stated occupancy can get the whole group evicted with no refund.

What time do bars close in Gatlinburg?

1 a.m. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are premier resort cities under Tennessee law, which stops alcohol sales at 1 a.m. Knoxville, an hour away, serves until 3 a.m. Liquor stores can sell on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., so the cabin can be stocked any day.

When is the cheapest time for a Gatlinburg bachelor party?

Late January to early March, and late April to early May. Avoid June through August, early October through early November, the holidays and the two Pigeon Forge Rod Run weekends, which in 2026 are April 16 to 18 and September 17 to 19.
