What a San Diego bachelor party actually costs

Updated September 2026

$765 to $1,458 a man for three nights with twelve guys, before flights. Add about $383 for a round trip into SAN, which is ten minutes from downtown, and you get $1,148 to $1,841 all in. San Diego is the safest booking on this list, and that is a real feature rather than a boring one.

Check stays in San Diego

It costs roughly the same whatever weekend you pick

This is the only destination in this guide where that is true.

The federal lodging per diem for San Diego is $199 for most of the year and $237 in June and July. That is a 19 percent step up, the mildest of the nine destinations we cost out. Scottsdale swings 2.03x. Atlantic City short term rental revenue swings 7.4x between January and August.

If your group cannot agree on dates, or somebody's schedule keeps moving, San Diego is the destination that does not punish you for it.

Two group size walls you will hit

Brewery tours have a minimum of ten people. Below that a private tour is not expensive, it is unbookable, and the operator's own pricing grid shows nothing at all for groups of nine or fewer. At twelve you are fine, and the price is $110 to $250 a head depending on length, with round trip transport included, which is why the getting around line here is small.

Fishing boats cap at six passengers, and that is a Coast Guard limit rather than an operator preference. Twelve guys is two boats. Half days run $975 to $1,300 per boat, plus $100 a head for the fifth and sixth angler, plus a crew gratuity of 10 to 25 percent. Call it $200 to $267 a man.

The Gaslamp is walkable, the beer is not

Downtown works on foot. The problem is that the thing San Diego is actually known for, the brewery corridor, is in Miramar, North Park and Vista, and none of those are walkable from anywhere you will be sleeping.

This is why the brewery tour prices out better than it looks. It includes the van. Skip the tour and you are hiring one anyway.

The one week to avoid

Comic-Con, 22 to 26 July 2026, with preview night on the 22nd. Over 130,000 people. Rooms near the convention center go months ahead.

Beyond that there is genuinely nothing to steer around, which is unusual. Worth knowing about May and June: the coastal marine layer means grey overcast mornings that burn off by midday. It is widely reported and rarely mentioned in the brochures.

Questions

How much is a bachelor party in San Diego per person?

$765 to $1,458 a man for three nights with twelve guys, before flights, or roughly $1,148 to $1,841 once you add a flight into SAN.

Does San Diego get more expensive in summer?

Only slightly. The federal lodging rate goes from $199 to $237 in June and July, a 19 percent step up, which is the flattest seasonality of any destination in this guide.

How many people can go on a San Diego fishing charter?

Six per boat, which is a Coast Guard limit rather than an operator rule. A group of twelve needs two boats, at $975 to $1,300 each for a half day plus extra angler fees and crew gratuity.

When should you avoid San Diego?

Comic-Con week, 22 to 26 July 2026. Otherwise there is no strong reason to steer around any particular date, which is unusual for a destination this popular.
